Description: 

The EDU-Syria scholarship program, funded by the European Union’s “Madad” Trust Fund, is pleased to announce that the registration period for the Bachelor’s Degree scholarship program at Zarqa University, in Jordan, is open now for Syrian refugee students for the first semester of the 2020/2021 academic year.

The registration period is open until Thursday, 24 September 2020.

EDU-Syria grants scholarships to Syrian refugees and vulnerable Jordanians to pursue higher education as well as vocational training at Jordanian universities and colleges. The program started in 2015 and will continue until 2023.

EDU-Syria is an educational and humanitarian project funded by the EU to provide higher education scholarships to Syrians affected by the conflict and underprivileged Jordanians and to help the host communities in Jordan. The project has supported more than 1,000 degree earners so far and has enrolled almost 1,900 students in various academic programs.

Eligibility:

– The candidate must be Syrian and should have a copy of the registration document for refugees issued by the UNHCR.

– The candidate should hold a Jordanian security card (magnetic card) for Syrians.

– The candidate must have a certified copy of the high school certificate.

– The candidate must be younger than 28 years old.

– The priority will be given to candidates with a higher GPA.

– The candidate should obtain an initial acceptance document from Zarqa University. (This acceptance does not mean that the candidate is accepted for the scholarship.)

– The candidate must be a Jordanian high school graduate for the year 2020.

How to Apply:

Required documents to register at Zarqa University:

– A certified copy of the high school certificate

– Jordanian security card (magnetic card) for Syrians

– A copy of the registration document for refugees issued by the UNHCR

– A copy of the birth certificate or family documents (if available).

– A copy of the passport.

– Two recent personal photos.

Applying to the scholarship:

First: The candidate should acquire the required documents and obtain an initial acceptance document from Zarqa University.

Second: The candidate should apply to the scholarship through the official platform link below.

Third: An interview will be held with candidates who meet the requirements.

Fourth: After the interview is conducted, eligible candidates will be chosen. The scholarship program will contact both accepted and non-accepted candidates.

Important notes:

– Registration in the scholarship platform is mandatory and no application will be considered otherwise.

– Before applying for the scholarship, the student should have an active email address.

– The project team will support the candidates to apply to the official scholarship platform.
