The Qalaa Holdings Scholarship Foundationprovides scholarships for talented and promising young Egyptian men and women to pursue master’s degrees outside Egypt in any academic discipline. The programme is looking for people who have the passion, ideas, and influence to provide solutions and leadership needed to create a better future and who are committed to returning to work in Egypt for a minimum of two years. Egyptian citizens only are eligible to apply.

Scholars receive either full funding to cover tuition and living expenses, or partial funding to cover tuition only while pursuing a full-time master’s degree.

The programme is funded by Qalaa Holdings Scholarship Foundation, which was created in 2007 out of a strong will to contribute to national development through creating high-calibre professionals to help enhance Egypt’s growth in all sectors.

The next scholarship application period will open on 15 January 2024.

Benefits

The scholarship has two levels:

  • Full scholarships covering tuition and living expenses.
  • Partial scholarships covering tuition only (up to $50,000 U.S. per annum).

Eligibility 

Applicants must:

  • Be under the age of 35.
  • Be an Egyptian national and residing in Egypt.
  • Have a minimum of two years of work experience post-graduation.
  • Be planning to pursue studies at one of the top universities abroad in their discipline of choice.
  • Have been accepted at the university and program of interest.
  • Submit an unconditional acceptance letter (with the exception of a funding condition).
  • Have an excellent command of language of study and good command of the English language.
  • Have a genuine financial need.
  • Not be a beneficiary of any other partial scholarship or grants (with the exception of waivers from the university of choice itself).
  • Be committed to return to work in Egypt for a minimum of two years upon completion of degree.
  • Provide military service status (for males).

How to Apply

The application period opens on 15 January 2024 (see the scholarship schedule). Applications are only accepted in hard copy only, by mail or through our Fedex account (see details here).

Your application package must include the following:

  • The Qalaa Holdings Scholarship application form.
  • A copy of the letter of acceptance to your university of choice.
  • A copy of the completed application form submitted to your university of choice.
  • An updated CV.
  • Two letters of reference.
  • Copy of Military Certificate (for males only).
