The Pan African University (PAU) is an initiative of the Heads of State and Government of the African Union. PAU is a premier continental university network whose mission is to provide quality postgraduate education geared towards the achievement of a prosperous, integrated and peaceful Africa.

PAU offers scholarships to young, talented and enterprising applicants from African countries and the African diaspora to allow them to join master’s degree or Ph.D. degree programmes at any of the four PAU institutes, which are based at universities in Algeria, Cameroon, Kenya, and Nigeria.

Candidates with potential, motivation and who desire to play transformative leadership roles as academics, professionals, industrialists, innovators and entrepreneurs are particularly encouraged to apply.

Eligibility 

Master’s degree candidates must:

• Be no older than 30 years for male applicants and 35 years for female applicants.
• Hold an undergraduate degree from a recognized university, with at least a second-class upper division or its equivalent, in a relevant field.
• Provide certified copies of relevant certificates and transcripts (from university and high school).
• Provide a recommendation letter from one university professor.
• Provide the names of three reference university lecturers (with email address and WhatsApp number).

Ph.D. candidates must:

• Be no older than 35 for male applicants and 40 for female applicants.
• Hold a master’s degree in a relevant field from a PAU institute or any internationally recognized university.
• Provide certified copies of relevant certificates, transcripts.
• Provide recommendation letters from two professors.
• Provide the names of three reference university lecturers (with email address and WhatsApp number).
• Submit a 3- to 4-page research concept note outling their research questions, objectives, and significance of their research proposal, etc.)

All candidates must provide the following documents:

• Passport or National I.D. card (personal details page).
• Clear colored passport size photograph (2cmx2cm).
• Detailed CV.
