Australia Awards Scholarships, the Australian government’s prestigious international scholarships programme, provides scholarships that enable outstanding students from more than 50 countries, including four Arab countries, to study at participating Australian universities and Technical and Further Education (TAFE) institutes. For applicants from the eligible Arab countries—Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, and Palestine—the awards support master’s degree study only.

Applications are strongly encouraged from women, people with disability and other marginalised groups. Candidates receive full funding to cover tuition and other expenses while studying.

Applicants may study any field but are encouraged to choose study programmes that are considered priority areas for development in their region, as listed on the participating country profiles. The scholarships are not available for training in areas related to flying aircraft, nuclear technology or military training.

The Australia Awards Scholarships are long-term scholarships administered by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. They are offered to the next generation of global leaders in developing countries. Through study and research, recipients develop the skills and knowledge to drive change and help build enduring people-to-people links with Australia.
