The University of Queensland (UQ) is pleased to offer Destination Australia Scholarship for suitably qualified international students who wish to enroll in a degree program at the university. 

This scholarship award is available for international students enrolling for full-time studies at the university. To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, you must first apply for an eligible degree programme at the University of Queensland and receive an offer.

This scholarship awards focuses on academic excellence, experience, and employability. The programme covers the maximum duration of four years, applicable to undergraduate and post-graduate students.

The Destination Australia scholarship is funded by the Australian Government Department of Education. It aligns with the National Strategy for International Education 2025.

The scholarship’s objective is to:

– Attract and support study in regional Australia.

– Grow and develop regional Australian tertiary education providers.

– Offer students a high-quality learning experience.

Deadline: 14 June 2023 for the semester beginning in July.


Applicants must:

– Be an international student.

– Hold a student visa for the scholarship’s duration.

– Be a commencing student or a UQ alumni commencing a different programme (for example, Master’s after completing a Bachelor’s degree).

– Have a full offer to study an eligible programme delivered entirely at the UQ Gatton campus in 2023 (you don’t need to accept your full offer by the scholarship application deadline).
