This program is mainly for Muslim students (a few are available for non-Muslims) and open to those who have already been accepted by the Faculty of Oriental Studies to read for an M.St or M.Phil in Islamic art and archaeology at the University of Oxford. The majority of funds available are “zakat” monies and as such can only be granted to Muslim applicants, to enable them to carry out, in person, particular tasks, projects or courses of study. There are also funds that are available to assist non-Muslim scholars and projects administered by non-Muslim organizations.
