Description

Dublin City University (DCU) has the following three Scholarship options available to refugees and asylum seekers based in Ireland:

Campus-based Undergraduate Scholarships

DCU Connected: Online Scholarships

DCU FutureLearn: Online Scholarships

Each scholarship consists of:

– Fee waiver for three / four years of UG program

– Monthly Financial Subsidy (for those attaining courses on campus) 

An information session about the Sanctuary scholarships was held on Wednesday, 17th of June. The information session was recorded for the benefit of those who were not able to attend.

Eligibility criteria

For the on-campus program: Applicants must have made an academic application to DCU through the Campus Applications Office (CAO) by 1st February or late application deadline of 1st May in the year of entry, The late application deadline option does not apply to Mature Applicants. Mature Applicants are applicants over the age of 23 by 1st January in the year of entry. 

For all programs: Applicants must also complete a separate University of Sanctuary scholarship application form.

Applicants under 23 must have or intend to complete the Irish Leaving Certificate or a full FETAC/QQI level 5 qualification.

Priority will be given to applicants residing in Direct Provision centers within DCU’s catchment area with direct transportation links (unfortunately we cannot accept applications from those in temporary accommodation).

– The deadline for the on-campus program is July 1st, 2020.

– The deadline for online program is August 10, 2020.
