Description:

The Centre for Human Rights, Faculty of Law, University of Pretoria in South Africa is offering Master’s Scholarships in Human Rights and Democratisation in Africa (HRDA) for the Class of 2021. This prestigious course is presented by the Centre in partnership with 12 leading African universities. The HRDA is a  one-year intensive course where 25 to 30 exceptional individuals spend six months in Pretoria and six months at one of the 12 partner universities all over Africa, where they are taught by eminent lecturers in the field of human rights and undergo many practical training exercises. 

Fees and Scholarships: Approximate cost of the programme (1 year)  is $15,000. There are up to 25 Full Scholarships available for African citizens.

Eligibility:

The eligibility criteria as follows:

Law students (LLM option):  A degree allowing access to the legal profession 

Non-law students (MPhil option):  An Honours degree in a discipline relevant to human  rights and democratization 

 Applicants must have excellent academic credentials and demonstrate human rights experience or interest.  

Partially or fully self-funded students are also encouraged to apply for this program.

– Copy of bio-data page of passport

– A good quality photograph of yourself

– For applicants who did not obtain their qualifications in English: TOEFL, SAT1 or IELTS Test certificate.
