Description:
The Centre for Human Rights, Faculty of Law, University of Pretoria, in South Africa is offering Master’s Degree Scholarships in Human Rights and Democratization in Africa (HRDA) for the Class of 2023.
The course is presented in partnership with 12 leading African universities. Chosen applicants will spend six months in Pretoria and six months at one of the 12 partner universities, where they will be taught by eminent lecturers in the field of human rights and undergo many practical training exercises.
The course duration is one year, January to December 2023. There are two degree options:
– A law degree (LLM) allowing access to the legal profession
– A non-law degree (MPhil) in a discipline relevant to human rights and democratisation.
The approximate cost of the programme is $15,000 (USD). Up to 25 full scholarships are available to African citizens. Partially or fully self-funded students are also encouraged to apply.

Applicants must have excellent academic credentials and demonstrate human rights experience or interest.
