The Chancellor’s Scholarship at the American University of Sharjah (AUS) will provide up to 10 scholarships to qualifying first-time, first-year students enrolling at AUS this fall. The scholarship is open to all students who reside in the United Arab Emirates. The scholarship covers recipients’ full tuition and lab fees, an application fee waiver, on-campus housing, and student medical insurance costs during the study period.

Scholarship recipients may study any bachelor’s degree offered at AUS. The selection process depends heavily on academic excellence and other requirements that showcase students’ achievements. Applicants will be evaluated based on their performance in grades 10 and 11, and their predicted grades for the final year (where applicable). The scholarship will be renewable for students who maintain the scholarship requirements.

Applicants must:

  • Be U.A.E. residents.
  • Meet the academic requirements: British qualification, three A-levels (two A grades and one at least a B) and five GCSE’s (all A grades); IB Diploma, minimum 38 points; American curriculum, 98% with two AP’s at grade 5, or SAT combined score of 1200; U.A.E. national curriculum, 98% with two AP’s at grade 5; other curricula, scores equivalent to those above.
  • Provide proof of English proficiency: IELTS 7.0 or TOEFL iBT 94.

  • An essay outlining your extracurricular activities, abilities, social activities, and potential contributions to AUS.
  • Evidence of exceptional personal characteristics and leadership ability in schools/communities.
  • Evidence of scientific or literary contributions to the community.
  • School honours/awards, community service, and extracurricular activities.
  • A three- to five-minute video explaining why you should be considered for the scholarship.
  • Two letters of recommendation.
