Description

The Belgium Master Mind Scholarship programme provides full scholarships to outstanding students from around the world to study any eligible master’s degree programme offered at one of the participating Flemish host institutions in Flanders and Brussels. Students from all nations (except Russia) are eligible to apply.

The scholarship covers full tuition for one or two years, depending on the programme chosen, and provides a grant of 10,000 euros, paid in installments, to cover accommodation, living, and insurance costs. Scholarship holders pay only an administrative enrolment fee.

Scholarship candidates must first apply for admission to an eligible Flemish host institution. Host institutions’ application deadlines vary from 1 February to 31 March 2024.

The scholarship programme is funded by the Flemish Ministry of Education and Training, which oversees education in the Flemish region of Belgium.

Eligibility

Candidates must:

  • Apply and be admitted to a master’s degree course at an eligible Flemish host institution. (Students enrolling in preparatory, bridging, and distance learning programmes are not eligible for the Master Mind Scholarship.)
  • Demonstrate exceptional academic performance and potential, as evidenced by a high grade-point average (minimum GPA of 3.5 out of 4.0).
  • Provide proof of English language proficiency via scores on IELTS, TOEFL, or a similar official language test recognized by the host institution. (See minimum test scores and other eligibility criteria here.)
  • Meet all criteria of the host institution.

How to Apply

  • Candidates must first apply for admission to a master’s degree course at one or more Flemish host institutions. The host institution starts the scholarship application procedure.
  • If your host institution preselects you for a Master Mind Scholarship, you willreceive an email generated by the Mobility-Online tool. Complete your scholarship application file in the Mobility-Online tool and submit it before the deadline.

You will be asked to prepare and upload the following documents:

  • Passport photo.
  • International passport or national ID.
  • A Curriculum Vitae that includes your American GPA out of 4.0 (see Annex 1 for information on how to calculate your American GPA).
  • Transcript(s) of academic records. If written in a language other than Dutch, French, German or English, a certified translation must be enclosed.
  • English language test results or a letter of exemption provided by the host university.
  • Your letter of motivation, written in English.
  • Two signed letters of recommendation from professors at your previous university or recent employers, written in English.
  • A copy of acquired diploma(s). If written in a language other than Dutch, French, German or English, a certified translation must be enclosed.
