Aga Khan Foundation Scholarships for Postgraduate Study

Aga Khan Foundation Scholarships for Postgraduate Study
Country of scholarship: All Countries
Country of Citizenship: Egypt, Syria

The Aga Khan Foundation’s International Scholarship Programme awards need-based scholarships to outstanding international students to help them pursue a postgraduate degree in development-related studies at any reputable university or postgraduate institution of higher learning. The foundation gives priority to requests for master’s level courses but will also consider applications for Ph.D. programmes.

Applicants must be from an eligible country. In the Arab region, those include Egypt and Syria.

The scholarships are intended as a resource of last resort, and applicants are expected to exhaust all other sources of assistance before seeking the foundation’s aid. The scholarships will cover the remaining portion of eligible educational expenses after all other sources of assistance have been deducted. Moreover, half of the amount awarded will be considered a loan that recipients must repay over a five-year period after graduating.

Scholarship candidates must demonstrate academic competence through their transcripts, recommendations, experience, and likelihood of succeeding in their selected course. They must also provide proof of financial need.

The next scholarship application period will open in January 2024.
