Hilal A. Lashuel
Hilal A. Lashuel, who was born in Taiz, Yemen, is a professor of neuroscience at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, in Lausanne. He served as the executive director of Qatar National Biomedical Research Institute, part of the Qatar Foundation, from 2016 to 2018 and was a recipient of the 2018 Kuwait Prize for biological sciences. One of his dreams is to establish a national institute for natural products and drug discovery on the Yemeni island of Socotra and position Yemen as a regional leader in these fields.
