Digital Marketing and Sales Specialist

Al-Fanar Media, an online publication dedicated to covering higher education, research and culture in the Arab region, is seeking to hire a digital marketing and sales specialist with a high focus on SEO/SEM and Website monetisation.

 

Digital Marketing and Sales Specialist Job Responsibilities:

-Develops digital marketing strategy by studying the higher education market indicators, tracking changes in supply and demand, identifying customers/consumers and their current and future needs, and monitoring the competition.

-Plans and executes all web, SEO/SEM, database marketing, email, and display advertising campaigns.

-Oversees/contributes to our social media presence’s design, building, and maintenance.

-Measures and reports performance of all digital marketing campaigns and assesses against goals (ROI and KPIs).

-Identifies website monetization opportunities and optimizes the website structure and UX for monetization.

-Steers the website products sales process from identifying potential costumers to closing sales deals.

-Identifies trends and insights and optimizes spend and performance based on the insights.

-Brainstorms new and creative growth strategies through digital marketing (especially SEO/SEM).

-Plans, executes and measures conversion tests.

Collaborates with internal (development) teams to create landing pages and optimize the user experience.

-Utilizes strong analytical ability to evaluate end-to-end customer experience across multiple channels and customer touchpoints. Identifies critical conversion points and drop off points and optimizes user funnels.

 

This position is home-based with a timezone preference of GMT to GMT+3. This position focuses on results and deliverables. Most of the Al-Fanar Media team is located between London and Cairo, so the Digital Marketing and Sales Specialist should be online from 9 to 5 GMT to GMT+3. Al-Fanar Media offers competitive compensation in addition to a per-sales commission scheme.

 

Digital Marketing and Sales Specialist Qualifications/Skills:

-Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences (readers or potential paying customers) and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform, and motivate action (engagement, conversions, sales, etc..)

-Results-oriented

-Creating and maintaining partner relationships

-Coaching and guiding staff (on SEO/SEM and other digital marketing activities)

-Managing processes

-Self-motivated yet customer-focused

-Proficient in marketing research and statistical analysis

-Able to develop budgets

-Familiar with financial planning and strategy

 

Education and Experience:

-Bachelor’s or master’s degree in digital marketing or a related field.

-Arabic and English language proficiency is a must.

-Proven working experience in digital marketing, particularly within the higher education and online publications industry.

-Proven record of substantial audience growth in similar websites.

-Demonstrable experience leading and managing SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media, and display advertising campaigns.

-Proven record of successful SEO/SEM campaigns, especially in the Arab world and in the Arabic language context.

-Proven record of website monetization through PPC, native ads, donations and other income-generating activities.

-Experience in optimizing landing pages and user funnels

-Experience with A/B and multivariate marketing experiments

-Solid knowledge of website and marketing analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Ahrefs, SEMRush, etc.)

-Working knowledge of ad serving tools (i.e., Adsense)

-Experience in setting up and optimizing PPC and keyword search campaigns on all major search engines
